Whole- School Approach to Emotional and Mental Well-being Framework: Usability Survey

1. Background

Whole-School Approach to Emotional and Mental Well-being document survey

The Welsh Government are seeking your views on the current Whole-School Approach to Emotional and Mental Well-being (WSA) Framework document and its effectiveness in supporting schools to implement the principles of the framework.

Your feedback will help us understand how useful the current document is in practice and identify areas where it could be strengthened. We are also seeking your views on our proposed aims for refreshing the framework.

These aims are to:

•    Reflect current policy, legislation, and evidence, providing schools with a clear and shared understanding of what a whole-school approach to well-being involves and the support available.
•    Strengthen links with related frameworks, guidance, and cross-government initiatives, clearly demonstrating how they work together as part of a whole-system approach.
•    Support implementation through practical guidance and resources while remaining flexible and non-prescriptive, enabling schools to respond to their own context and needs.

Your insights will help ensure that any refreshed framework document is relevant, practical, and effective in supporting the well-being of learners, staff, and the wider school community. Thank you for contributing.
